General Notes: Husband - James Allen

He owned a saw mill and operated flouring mills. He was a man of strong character and decided eccentricity. He died at a great age, said to have been a centenarian. [GPHAV, 9857]

He came from the north of Ireland about 1797, and settled in the county of Dauphin, near Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He died about 1820. He there owned and operated a saw and flouring-mill successfully, and lived to be about one hundred years of age. He was a man of strong character, though marked by decided eccentricities.
