Coraopolis, Allegheny Co, PA

He was educated in Warrenton, Ohio. He began to clerk in a general store and postoffice at Warrenton when fifteen years old, and remained until 1879, when he came to Coraopolis, Pennsylvania. While clerking at Warrenton he learned telegraphy, and worked as night operator at Coraopolis some five or six months. He was then appointed to the position as agent at Montour Junction for the P. & L. E. and Montour railways.
He and his wife were members of the Presbyterian Church.
