General Notes: Husband - Virgil M. McDowell
He was educated in the public schools of his native place, of Hubbard, Ohio, and of Midway, Pennsylvania, and also attended the High School at Sharon, Pennsylvania. He became known as an excellent business man at Midway, and there the larger part of his interests were centered. He owned fifty-five acres of very valuable land on the Midway Borough line, and also operated a coal mine which belonged to the Pittsburg Coal Company.
He and his family attended the Baptist Church at Midway. He was identified with the order of Odd Fellows, belonging to Midway Valley Lodge No. 888.
