General Notes: Husband - Thomas Read

He came with his father to Clearfield County, Pennsylvania, in 1802, locating in Lawrence township, on Read's Ridge. From a tract of wild land he developed a good farm, locating on what was later the James Spackman place, where he built one of the first brick residences in the county, and made many other extensive and valuable improvements. There he resided until his death.
In connection with the cultivation of his land, he operated a coal mine.
In politics he was a Democrat.

Different sources listing his children disagree. Some of those listed here may have been offspring of his second marriage.
