General Notes: Husband - William S. Allen

He was reared to man's estate in Parker Township, Butler County, Pennsylvania, and attended the local schools throughout boyhood, later enjoying more advanced opportunities in academies at West Sunbury and North Washington. He assisted on the home farm and also taught school for a time, but after his marriage engaged in cultivating his farm of sixty acres, in Parker Township. In 1897 he started a general store at Glenora, which he then conducted, and he was post-master and his wife was postmistress of that village. In politics he was a stanch Republican and he served his community in a number of offices, for two years being overseer of the poor, for several terms supervisor and later as collector.
