He located in Indiana [Indiana County, Pennsylvania?] in 1816, as pastor of the Presbyterian church. He was a noted linguist, and in the Presbytery he and Rev. David Kirkpatrick were accustomed to examine the applicants for license. He also for some years was a professor in Washington College.
