He was the eldest of his siblings; was a miller, an occupation he worked at the better
part of his life, in connection with farming. He was twice married, by the first union were born nine children, eight still living in 1885. He was a member of the Old School Presbyterian Church; was owner of fifty acres of well-improved land, with a fine residence erected thereon in 1880.
