General Notes: Husband - James I. Douds

---

He was reared on the farm until he was twenty-four years old, attending the common school. He became the owner of eighty-five acres of land where he now resided in Brighton township, and forty in Hopewell township. The family were members of the United Presbyterian church. He was a Republican in politics, and served some years as county auditor. He was school director for ten years, also served as supervisor, and held all the other township offices.
