General Notes: Husband - James Dungan

He was a bookbinder, and had the contract for binding the first edition of quarto Bibles printed in America, which was published by Mathew Carey in 1802.
In 1805 he and his wife settled at Frankfort Springs, Beaver County, Pennsylvania, and engaged in farming, also keeping hotel there. He gave Frankfort Springs its name, and lived there until his death.

General Notes: Wife - Johanna Holland

She was a descendant of a family of Quakers and she held membership in the Society of Friends. Upon her marriage to James Dungan, not a member of the society, and consequently a "heretic," she was "read out of Meeting," and deprived of her birthright in the society. She thereupon united with the Presbyterian church rather than accept the only alternative open to her, the expression of regret for her marriage to one not of the faith.

She died when eighty-four years old, leaving five children, thirty-five grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.
