General Notes: Husband - Henry M. Gault

Cross Creek Twp, Washington Co, PA

He was educated in the local schools and the State Normal School at Edinboro, Pennsylvania, leaving at the age of eighteen years to assist his father on the farm. After his own marriage, in 1874, he moved to Norfolk, Virginia, where he engaged in gardening until 1882, when he went to Plattsmouth, Nebraska, where he carried on farming and stock raising until 1903. The death of his father caused his return to the homestead in Pennsylvania, where he was engaged thereafter, having 188 acres of fine land.
He and his family were members of the Presbyterian Church at Cross Creek village, and he was an elder in the church for over twenty years. Mr. Gault was never very active in politics, but he served some years as a school director. He was a stanch advocate of temperance in all things and cast his vote in favor of the Prohibition party. He was a stockholder in the Hickory Telephone Company.
