General Notes: Husband - Samuel Myron Gordon, D.D.


He entered Allegheny College in 1883, and completed the four-year course in three years, being graduated with the A.B. degree in 1886. He later received his master's degree and Ph.D. in Theism and Christianity from Allegheny College. After service of a year as pastor of Foxburg and St. Petersburg churches, he spent two years in what is now South Dakota. He was transferred to Sheakleyville Methodist Church, which included the Sheakleyville, Hadley, and North Salem churches. Dr. Gordon served three years at Slippery Rock, four at Mercer, four at Brookville, two at Westfield, NY, three at Greenville, then he served at Cambridge Springs and New Castle. He served four years at Methodist headquarters on the Chautauqua assembly grounds. After spending four years at Brooklyn, NY, and five years at Brooklyn Heights, near Jamestown, NY, he was granted retirement from the conference.

An obituary for him states that one of his children died in North Dakota while they lived there.
