He received his medical education in the College of Physicians and Surgeons, of Baltimore, Maryland, and the Academy of Medicine of Louisville, Kentucky, graduating at the latter place in the spring of 1892, his diploma being endorsed by the Pittsburg Medical College. He engaged in practice in Little Coolie, Crawford county, Pennsylvania, and later at Cambridge, Pennsylvania. In the spring of 1895 he came to Erie County and located at Harbor Creek, where he was the only physician in the midst of a thickly settled surrounding country.
He was employed for some time in the North Warren Hospital for the Insane, and had considerable experience in the treatment of mental diseases.
