General Notes: Husband - Peter Young

He immigrated to America from Donegal, Ireland, about 1795, and soon after landing came to Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, where he engaged in farming and remained until 1800. He then came to Big Beaver township, Beaver County, and purchased one hundred acres of land, which was a part of the population tract taken up by Robert Wylie, and there he remained until his death.

A native of Ireland, he immigrated to Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, in 1790, and later removed to Beaver County, where the balance of his life was spent.

He was born in Ireland, where he was educated and spent the early part of his life. He came to America, located east of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and entered the employ of Captain Crawford, a hero of the Revolutionary War. He subsequently went to Saw Mill Run, and in the year 1800 removed to Beaver County, where he purchased a farm of 100 acres of wild land. He built log sheds and a log house, and at that time there were but three white families in the district.
