General Notes: Husband - Jonathan Potts

---

He went with his parents to Virginia, and was a soldier in the Virginia Continental Line in the Revolutionary War. He was a blacksmith by trade, and as he was a landowner, probably supplemented his income by farming. Because of his patriotic service in the Revolution he was granted a pension, dated March 17, 1819. He moved from Loudoun County, Virginia, to Washington County, Pennsylvania, where he resided for several years, in 1800 his name appearing in the assessment list for Hanover township, where he is designated as "blacksmith."
