General Notes: Husband - Thomas C. Douglass
For three years he was engaged in manufacturing lumber, but with this exception he always followed farming. In 1861 he enlisted in Co. I, 63d P. V. I., and served until the close of the war. He was orderly-sergeant of his company, and was wounded at the battles of Spottsylvania and the Wilderness.
He was assessor of his township three terms. He was a member of Youghiogheny Valley Lodge, No. 555, I. O. O. F.; Rankin Post, No. 127, G. A. R., and Castle No. 81, A. O. K. M. C. Mr. and Mrs. Douglass were members of Mt. Vernon Presbyterian Church, of which he was one of the trustees.
