General Notes: Husband - Capt. Samuel Doty
He was a surveyor by trade.
He was born in Plymouth, Massachusetts, and became quite prominent in the affairs of Plymouth and Cape Cod. Later he removed to New Jersey, locating at Piscataway, Middlesex County, where he was well known. In 1675 he was commissioned lieutenant of the military company of New Piscataway, of which Francis Drake was captain; this commission was received in 1678. He became a member of the Seventh Day Baptist Church, which was formed in 1700.
