General Notes: Husband - John G. Martin

He came with his parents to Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, in 1832, and remained there until 1850, when he was married. He and his wife moved to a home in Allen township, Washington County, in the spring of 1850. The place contained 120 acres of fertile land where he engaged in gardening and general agriculture. He was actively interested in politics, voting with the Republican party, and served for years as a member of the school board. He and his wife were members of the Disciple Church at Fayette City.
