General Notes: Husband - John Hartford

He was born in Hanover township, Beaver County, Pennsylvania, about a half mile from the Washington County line, not far from Frankfort. He inherited one hundred acres of land as his share of the paternal estate, and this was the eastern portion of the farm. On this he erected a number of comfortable buildings and made numerous other improvements. While on a visit to the old home of his father one day, he suddenly dropped dead. He had been one of the leading and most prosperous farmers of the section.
