He came from Maryland to Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, with his mother and brother, and was a teamster in the army during the Revolution. He and his brother purchased 400 acres of land on Miller's run, followed farming and remained on this property until their deaths. He became the father of six children, and died aged eighty-six years.
