General Notes: Husband - John Elder

---

He was a blacksmith by trade, but long engaged as a storekeeper and miller at Elders Ridge, Indiana County, Pennsylvania, where he died.

He and his wife lived at Elder's Ridge, Pennsylvania, on a farm for the first five years after their marriage. He was a blacksmith by trade. He kept store and attended mill for a few years. He was also a carpenter and a tinner and worked at these trades at times.
