General Notes: Husband - Thomas Alexander
He remained on the home farm until he was twenty-one years of age and then found employment in the oil fields, visiting those of Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia, and ever after was more or less concerned in oil producing and oil contracting. In 1886 he came to Butler and very soon became one of the city's active and useful citizens. He served three years as a member of the City Council and for three years as a member of the School Board. In 1905 he was elected treasurer of Butler County, for a period of three years.
