General Notes: Husband - Thomas Shaw
He was born on the home farm, where he remained until 1846, when he bought a farm in North Huntingdon township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, and there he followed farming until 1882, when he moved to Ohio and there died. In politics he was first a Whig and later a Republican. For many years he was a member of the Associated Reform church, known as the "old Brush Creek church." Subsequently, when the Associated Reform merged into the United Presbyterian, he became a member of that denomination.
