General Notes: Husband - Levi Axtell Dodd
He was an officer in the Civil War, 1861-1865. He was appointed captain of the 169th Pennsylvania Infantry, November 16, 1862; honorably mustered out of service, July 25, 1863; appointed lieutenant-colonel of the 211th Pennsylvania Infantry Regiment, September 16, 1864; colonel, April 4, 1865; brevetted brigadier-general of volunteers, April 2, 1865, for gallantry and meritorious service in the assault upon the enemy's works in front of Petersburg, Virginia, and August 4, 1865, was honorably discharged.
