General Notes: Husband - Ithiel Dodd
The year 1801 brought Ithiel Dodd to Sandy Creek Township, Mercer County, Pennsylvania; he settled near what afterward became the village of Middleton.
He gave the ground on which the old Presbyterian Church was built at Fairfield, Pennsylvania.
He was one of the first teachers in the section of Venango County, around Jackson Township. He was a good musician and conducted several singing schools.
He removed from Washington County, Pennsylvania, to Fairfield, Mercer County, and there gave the land for, and built, the first Presbyterian Church edifice in that immediate locality, and, until a minister was secured, exercised ministerial functions, and, upon the organization of the church, became one of its ruling elders.
