General Notes: Husband - Jacob Mumma

He was born six miles east of Harrisburg, in Swatara Township, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, and remained on the farm with his father until his marriage. He and his wife moved to Lancaster County, in 1835, and engaged in farming until 1839. In the spring of that year he came to Cumberland County and bought a farm in Monroe Township, afterward purchasing the old homestead farm in Silver Spring Township.
He was one of the founders of what eventually became the First National Bank of Mechanicsburg.
His second wife was the mother of six children; four were living in 1886.

He and his wife were members of the Mennonite Church at State Hill.

General Notes: Wife - Catharine Eberly

Her first husband, Mr. Rupp, a farmer, died soon after the birth of their third child.
