General Notes: Husband - William J. Alexander
A young man when the Civil War began, he fought under General Sherman in the Union Army as a member of the 111th Regiment of Pennsylvania Volunteers, holding a captaincy in Company D for a considerable period, then being promoted and retired as lieutenant-colonel. Resuming his peacetime activities, he was engaged in business for some time, and for eight years he was registrar and recorder of Warren County, Pennsylvania. He was a Republican in politics and a member and vestryman and treasurer of Trinity Memorial Church, Warren.
