General Notes: Husband - Rev. Samuel Carothers Alexander
He graduated from Jefferson College, Pennsylvania, in 1858, and from the Seminary, in Columbia, South Carolina, in 1861, and was pastor of Steele Creek Church, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, till September, 1865. He was subsequently active in founding and organizing Biddle University, at Charlotte, North Carolina. In 1873 he accepted a call to the Upper Path Valley Presbyterian Church [Franklin County, Pennsylania?], of which his great-grandfather was one of the founders, and from 1887 until his death he was pastor at Newport and Millerstown.
