General Notes: Husband - Narcisse Francois Honore Denis

He was educated as a surgeon, but being unable to stand the sight of blood, took up the study of chemistry and became expert in that science, being associated with the firm of Duval & Robiquet, one of the most prominent chemical establishments in Paris. He came to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1832, and was engaged in the manufacture of chemicals and drugs in that city until 1856, when he retired from business, having accumulated a competence.
