General Notes: Husband - James Porter

---

He and his wife were descendants of that noble band of Christians, the Scotch Covenanters, who settled in the north of Ireland. He was one of a family of ten sons (three of whom married three sisters, the Misses Alexander). His vocation was that of a farmer, and he died on the family homestead in Ireland, where his widow continued to resided. He was the father of four sons and two daughters.
