He was a graduate of Butler High School, 1914, Westminster College in 1918. He enlisted May 4, 1917, in Hospital Unit L, Camp Hospital 21, Fort McPherson, Atlanta, Georgia; served in France sixteen months, was discharged June 12, 1919, and returned to Butler. He belonged to the American Legion, Victory Lodge F. and A. M. No. 694, New Castle Consistory, Butler Country Club and Sterling Club.
