General Notes: Husband - Joseph Davis

---

A native of Tyrone, Blair County, Pennsylvania, he came to Clearfield County at an early day, and purchased 150 acres, which he cleared of the heavy growth of timber, transformed it into a farm, and erected all the buildings thereon.

He spent the early part of his life in Sinking Valley, Pennsylvania, and then came to Penn township, Clearfield County, and purchased 150 acres, clearing about half of this property by his own industry and residing on it until his death.
He and his wife were reared in the Society of Friends and they belonged to this religious body all their lives. They were among the early members at Grampian, and their ashes rest in the cemetery connected with the church at that place.
