General Notes: Husband - James Emmerson Clyde Reed


He was raised on a farm, and attended the public school in Highland township, Clarion County, Pennsylvania. At Kellettville, Forest County, he was for some years engaged in the hotel business and in the meat business. November 1, 1904, he returned to Clarion County, and bought a farm in Clarion township, one mile west of Clarion. It consisted of seventy-three acres, and on this he made many improvements, including the building of a silo in 1912. Making a specialty of dairying, Mr. Reed kept from twenty to thirty cows. He was a Democrat. In Highland township he held the office of township clerk.
