General Notes: Husband - Charles Divener

He attended the public schools in Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, as opportunity offered, until he was about sixteen years old, and after that helped his father both in the mines and at the farm and later became interested in the oil industry. In 1880 he bought the farm from the other heirs, and gave his attention to its cultivation together with oil production.
He was a member of the German Lutheran Church and one of its trustees. The only public office he ever consented to hold was that of overseer of the poor, which office he held for four years.
