He received his medical education at Philadelphia Medical College, and soon after graduating went to Cincinnati, Ohio, where he practiced for forty years, with the single intermission of a few years in Pittsburgh, after which he returned to Cincinnati and there died. He was a professor of medicine in Miami Medical College, and was held in the highest esteem.
