She was graduated at Otterbein University. She was graduated M. D., at Cleveland, Ohio, and spent a year at the University of Berlin, being the first woman to enter the Medical Department.
Her husband was a Presbyterian missionary in China, and she accompanied him, in 1890, as a medical missionary.
