General Notes: Husband - Lyman M. Hale


He was educated in the country schools, and then took a course in the Iron City College, at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Soon after leaving school he engaged in the news and stationery business at Turkey City, then a thriving oil town. Subsequently, from 1875 to 1877, he resided at Sacramento, California. Returning in the latter year, he engaged in the oil business, and pursued it ever after with varying success. In 1883 he located in Emlenton, and united insurance business with his other affairs. He was a member of the Masonic order, and politically independent.
