General Notes: Husband - Alexander Parker Lyon

He was educated at Dickinson College, Carlisle, PA, and settled in Pittsburgh early in the eighteen-fifties, where he associated himself with his brother-in-law, James B. Lyon, under the firm name of James B. Lyon & Company. They engaged in the manufacture of glass, and Mr. Lyon continued in that business until his death. He was a member of the Presbyterian church and of the Republican party. In 1861 he was appointed by President Lincoln consul to the Island of Cyprus. On his way to his post of duty, on account of sickness, he was obliged to return to Pittsburgh, where he died later the same year.
