J. DELONG SUCCUMBS AT AGE 87
Franklin -- J. Arthur DeLong, 87, of Polk RD 1, Frenchcreek Township, died at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Crawford Jr., of Polk RD 1. Mrs. Crawford is a grand-daughter of Mr. DeLong and he had made his home with the Crawfords since June. Mr. DeLong was born May 9, 1875 in Sandycreek Township, a son of John and Rebecca Reagle DeLong. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was a member of the Pine Hill Church of God.
Mr. DeLong is survived by the following children; Raymond DeLong of Franklin Star Route, John DeLong of Franklin RD 1, (Niles), and Carl DeLong of Oil City.
Before moving to his granddaughter's home, Mr. DeLong made his home with his son, John. He was employed for several years at the Franklin Creek Refinery, forerunner of the present Amalie Refinery and later was employed at Polk State School in a number of jobs.
Friends will be received at the L. L. Burger Funeral Home in Franklin starting at 7 p.m. today. Time of the funeral services will be announced. Rev. Walter Morrison of the Pine Hill Church of God will officiate and interment will be in the Franklin Cemetery.
