Verne Snyder, 65, Stricken at Work, Dies This Morning
Lee Verne Snyder, 65, of Cooperstown RD 1, died in the Frank­lin Hospital at 9:35 a. m. Wednesday following a brief illness.
Mr. Snyder, an employe of the Franklin Refinery Division of L. Sonneborn Sons, was in his usual good health when he went to work at midnight Monday. He was stricken with a heart attack at 2:15 a. m. Tuesday and rushed to the hospital.
He was a native of Rockland Township, born on June 9, 1894, the only son of the late Edwin Lee and Katherine Tirk Snyder.
He and the former Clara Fran­ces DeLong were united in marriage at Congress Hill on Nov. 26, 1913.
Mr. Snyder followed the oil and refinery business in Venango County all his life and for the past 15 years and had been employed by the Franklin Refinery,
He was a member of the Cooperstown Presbyterian Church and of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Franklin.
Surviving are his wife and five children, Edwin Snyder, of Franklin; Mrs. Kathryn Hilliard, Cooperstown RD 1; Leighton Snyder, Franklin RD 3; Mrs. Wilburt L. (Lillian) Carson, Cooperstown, and Herbert Snyder, of Cooperstown RD 1. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
The body has been removed to the Buchanan - Schmidt Funeral Home.
