General Notes: Husband - Dr. Samuel K. Snively


He was educated in the public schools and at the Chambersburg Academy. At the beginning of the Civil war he enlisted for the three months' service in Company B, 2d P. V. I., and at the expiration of the term of his enlistment he re-enlisted for three years in Independent Battery B, in which he served in Kentucky and Tennessee. He remained with his battery
as a veteran until the close of the war, becoming a sergeant, and being mustered out in Texas in November, 1865. After the war he studied medicine with his brother, Dr. I. N. Snively, and was graduated M. D. at Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia, in 1869. He began the practice of his profession at Hanover, Pennsylvania, with his brother, Dr. A. J. Snively, but in 1870 he removed to Williamsport, Maryland, where he continued to practice.
