General Notes: Husband - Philo Alden


He was a car-penter; worked in New York and New Orleans, moving in 1832 to Claiborne parish, Louisiana, where he engaged in lumber milling and served as deputy sheriff. He went to California in 1850, returned in 1852, and in 1857 was elected sheriff of Bossier parish, Louisiana. He was thrown from his horse and killed at his home in Bellevue, Louisiana. He was a charter member and master of the first Masonic lodge of northwestern Louisiana.
