General Notes: Husband - James Davis

He was born on the old Davis homestead in Independence township, Beaver County, Pennsylvania. At a very early age he moved with his father to Moon township, where the latter bought the old Campbell farm, but afterward the Edwards farm.

He was educated in his native county and at Edinboro, Pennsylvania. He taught school two winters, and then engaged in farming. He owned 145 acres, a part of the old Davis homestead.

He received a good scholastic training in the public schools, after which he attended, and was graduated from, Edinboro State Normal School. He then taught school for two terms, after which he bought the 140 acres of land owned by his father in Independence township, where he then engaged in agricultural pursuits. He greatly improved his property, and had one of the finest farms in the county, making a specialty of truck gardening. He was a Republican in politics, and was an enthusiastic supporter of that party.
He served as justice of the peace.
