General Notes: Husband - Andrew Davidson

On December 5, 1810, he purchased some two hundred and eight acres of land lying about one mile south of Wampum, Lawrence County, Pennsylvania, a part of which was later owned by his eldest son, John Davidson, Esq. He was an unusually industrious, hard-working man, remarkably regular in his habits, and was a very substantial and highly respected member of the community.
He served in the War of 1812.
He had a family of four sons and seven daughters.

He came to Lawrence County, Pennsylvania, in early manhood, from Ireland. He purchased a farm from the Benjamin Chew estate and in 1908 his grandson still had the old sheepskin deed entitling him to the property. At that time all the country was covered with forest growth, which he cleared and also acquired other land. He was very just to his children, apportioning to each a fair-sized farm. Of his family of eleven, John was the eldest.
