General Notes: Husband - Robert Alcorn

He was born in Northern Ireland and came to Pennsylvania with his family and was living at Frankstown, Pennsylvania, near Altoona, before 1800. He came across the ocean on the same ship as did the Kerrs of Bethel, Pennsylvania. James and David Kerr came to Oil Creek Township, Crawford County, about 1794 and settled (James came first with a cousin named Samuel Kerr and a friend named Jonathan Titus.) James built a cabin and in 1799 returned to Frankstown and married Margy, daughter of Robert and Elizabeth Alcorn, and Robert and Elizabeth Alcorn followed the newlyweds back to the Bethel area. Robert took up land as did his son William Alcorn (later William married Jane, daughter of James Alcorn). Later another son, Andrew Alcorn, settled near Union Cemetery and raised a family.
