He was reared in Rockland township, Venango County, Pennsylvania. He received a common school education, and on arriving at his majority engaged in oil producing which he followed until 1883. In that year he became the partner of George Maloney. The family adhere to the Methodist Episcopal church. Mr. Dale is a member of the A. O. U. W., and a supporter of the Prohibition party. [HVC 1890, 833]

Residing in Toledo, Ohio, in 1919.
