General Notes: Husband - Gilbert O. Perry

He held the position of School Director several years. In politics, he was first a Republican, but later Independent, and stated that he would vote for no man for President or Congress, who was not in favor of paying the National debt at once. He was in favor of greenbacks for our National money as against National bank shin-plaster money, and was an advocate of free trade as a principle, and no tariff for special parties as a National policy.
