General Notes: Husband - William Cunningham

After spending his earlier years at Old Laurel Furnace near Uniontown, Fayette County, Pennsylvania, he established an inn for the accommodation of coach travelers on the National pike where later stood the county-seat. In addition to his inn interests he sent teams over the mountains, frequently made trips himself to Cumberland and Baltimore, carrying over grain and other produce and returning with salt and manufactured articles. Later in life he removed to Tyrone township and at the breaking out of the second war for independence he left his home and family to maintain the nation's liberty. At the close of the war he returned to his home, where he soon after died, leaving to his two sons, Joseph and William, a farm of several hundred acres.
