General Notes: Husband - Washington Parker Cummings


His early life was passed at Sandy Lake, where his education was acquired in the public schools, and after he attained his ma­jority, about the year 1848, he removed to Sugar Grove, where he purchased a farm whereon he remained until his death. He was a man of jovial and kindly disposition, esteem­ed and admired by all with whom he came in contact; and, like his father, was a member of the Presbyterian church. In politics he was a Republican.
