General Notes: Husband - Hon. William Maclay
He was a leading citizen of Path Valley for many years, making his home at Fannettsburg, Pennsylvania, where at one time he kept a tannery. He was very active in politics and became prominent, holding important offices. He was County Commissioner, 1805-7; a member of the Pennsylvania Legislature, 1807-9; an Associate Judge of Franklin County, 1809-15; and a Representative in Congress 1815-19. He was a ruling elder of the Lower Path Valley Presbyterian Church. He was a large man, standing six feet, two inches in height, and very muscular. In manner he was very affable and agreeable.
