General Notes: Husband - Edward Culbertson

---

He was born in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, and remained on the home farm until he was twenty-one years of age. He then left home and for a few years was engaged in a sawmill and lumber business in Somerset County, after which he moved to Washington, where, for a quarter of a century he was engaged in a transportation business. He then turned his attention to greenhouse gardening, which proved both interesting and profitable. He had excellent facilities on East Chestnut street and had 4,000 feet in his greenhouses under glass. He produced some choice flowers, but gave the larger part of his time to the growing of plants and to the raising of early vegetables.
